About Me

I am a stringed instrument technician based in Co. Cavan in the midlands of Ireland.

I spent ten years living and working in the USA where I studied violin making, repair, restoration and sound adjustment. 

In keeping with the majority of my training in the US, I enjoy working with violins, violas and cellos - particularly in restoration, setup and sound adjustment work. I keep an inventory of instruments, new and old - each of which has my complete setup before being offered for sale.

Since moving home to Ireland, I have also been making Traditional Irish Wire Strung Harps and will soon have some on display in the workshop for people to try. At the moment access to these instruments in a music shop is very limited and I feel this has slowed down the spread of it's resurgence and popularity that has been ongoing for many years now.

I don’t currently take commissions - I prefer to offer an inventory of instruments that are either made, or selected by me and restored to my specifications and standards with high quality, purpose picked materials.
